Strange to see that route pegged out. Must have been in exceptional condition with a run of ascents prior to the video. Probably not the "proper" conditions that MFT refers to.
Ageed. The section around 2:00 is particularly telling as to how hammered the ice was. Years ago I had a conversation about the ephemeral nature of mixed conditions. At the time I had no clue what was really being discussed. G&E fat and hammered is not the G&E Twight climbed. One could say it wasn't in condition on the 1st ascent...or "how dare they" from the French @ the time?! Long time ago by comparison to what is the norm and what is considered "easy" and hard now.
