Also be sure to check out the Nuclei Hoody (10 ounce 60-80g Coreloft), the Konseal Hoody (Power Dry Hard Face half zip hoody: lighter, better R1?), and the Fortrez Hoody (Power Stretch Hard Face version of the Konseal).
Pretty stoked about the new line-up here. I've been slowly re-gearing for a Himalaya trip and have been debating on what synthetic belay jacket to pair with my Atom LT. I've been waiting for the rumored return of the Dually for a bit here. Also interested to see how the Nuclei fits and if it has any windproofness to it, as it's 90g lighter than the Atom LT (which is my favorite piece of kit ever).
I thought maybe this year I would be able to save some money..... Apparently arcteryx had other plans. I have a feeling that there is going to be a few used atom hoody's for sale in the forums.
Erik: Nuclei doesn't have the same stretch side panels as the atom lt. This should give greater wind resistance, but not quite such a snug fit. You've got to respect a company that produces four different types of belay jacket :-)
I have had the pleasure of using the Nuclei hoody for the last couple of weeks of climbing here in Chamonix, it is a big step up from the Atom LT, lighter, warmer more wind proof and it also packs smaller. Love it!
Jon, for what it's worth, Arcteryx claims the Atom LT uses their Athletic cut while the Nuclei uses their Trim cut, which is supposed to be even closer fitting.
Chamonix, thanks for the feedback. How's the fit of the Nuclei relative to the Atom LT? (Length, non-baggy fit, etc.) Might you have tried any of the other new belay jackets (revised Dually, Solo Hoody)? Thanks, Erik
I have the Atom LT in a S and the Nuclei in a M (only size they had). It seems to me that they have used a very similar fit in the Nuclei and the Atom LT, they are both marked as "Trim" fit in the catalog. The Nuclei has 80g core loft in the body and 60g in the sleeves/hood and the Atom has 60g all-over. The Atom LT S weights 390g on my scales and the Nuclei M comes in at 310g. I have not tried the Dually or the Solo yet.

Hi!
I notice that Nuclei is quite similar to Rab Xenon jacket. I hope it is not so flimsy and not so shiny. How does it compare to Atom SV?
