Guess il try and get aliens to fit!
Thanks again
Carrig
Carrig Sulemannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6940163880772720830.post-57521548662873332022014-01-15T17:27:05.829-08:002014-01-15T17:27:05.829-08:00Being very careful with mine...but so far they are...Being very careful with mine...but so far they are holding up well. I won't be able to tell much more till spring time when I am doing more booting off the snow. Curious as well to the durability. But withholding judgement on the newest )(my) version until proven one way or the other. I saw all the stuff about the sole issues with the first generation, are your 2nd gen ones any better? I'm torn between aliens and pdgs, but if the sole is rubbish I think I'd accept any other issue I had with the alien.
Thanks
CarrigCarrig Sulemannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6940163880772720830.post-49667825101760325042013-11-24T17:42:56.119-08:002013-11-24T17:42:56.119-08:00Hi Peter,

So a 28 shell will generally be good for me. Gottta keep my nails trimed however. Typically a 45 or a 12 in shoes and boots are required. 29 shell if I am doing any long tours and want to be comfortable and warm. I also use to go down a size or more in rock shoes. I have what use to be pretty flexible and plastic feet. Likely one of the reasons they are now rather messed up :)

Tight ski boots and tight rock shoes might be thought a "performance" fit. Not sure I buy into all that now, decades later. But old habits die hard.Danehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08300760603627210620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6940163880772720830.post-66452398910713896042013-11-24T16:43:43.835-08:002013-11-24T16:43:43.835-08:00Why do you wear a size 28 ski boot but have size 1...Why do you wear a size 28 ski boot but have size 12 feet? I would just order a regualr pair through BD customer service and make sure you have the smaller bailes on the Stingers as well. There ia goo picture of my aprtner's Dave 46s Spantiks and Cyborgs...scary fit. I worry about him loosing a crampon. 47 can't be any better.

Flex bars will just make it worse IMO. It will help the fit to the rocker...just not keeping the crampon on the boot as it and rthe crampon flexes.Danehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08300760603627210620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6940163880772720830.post-47531764456813785172013-11-19T01:37:18.732-08:002013-11-19T01:37:18.732-08:00Hi Dane,

I have found some flexi long bars though and I was wondering what your thoughts were on these for use on technical ice and mixed?... I thought they would allow the crampon to better fit the steep rocker on the spantiks sole, but I'm not sure how it would effect other aspects of the fit and security and whether the flexi bars are as durable?Graham McGrathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07580474128405589850noreply@blogger.com
